We didn't set out to build a NAS company. We'd already walked away from a platform with a million monthly visitors because we refused to charge creators or take their copyrights.
That experience made one thing clear: when someone else controls the infrastructure, they eventually control you.
In 2024, we started FoldingLink in Hong Kong with a simple frustration — data shouldn't sit there doing nothing, and it shouldn't flow through a handful of tech giants.
NAS plus decentralization felt like an obvious idea nobody had fully committed to. So we built it. Maybe it won't work. But we'd rather find out than wonder.
